Wolseley UK Limited is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our Garforth branch. You will serve customers at the trade counter, advise on products, and handle enquiries by phone and email with a proactive approach.

The role also includes warehouse duties, stock control, and occasional 3.5T van deliveries to local customers. A full-time, 40-hour week applies, with Thursday to Saturday rota elements and standard hours 07:30–16:30, plus Saturday mornings on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• Previous face to face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• Driving licence would be beneficial
• Plumbing & heating knowledge is ideal

Responsabilités

• Serve customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and giving product advice
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business
• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch
• Perform warehouse duties including stock checks, put-away, picking and packing orders (heavy stock)
• Occasionally drive a 3.5T van to deliver to local customers

Role Overview

As a Sales Assistant based in our Garforth branch you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Driving a 3.5T van on occasion to make deliveries to local customers

Working Hours

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30 AM - 4:30 PM and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Candidate Requirements

• A Driving Licence would be beneficial
