Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of Wolseley Group, is recruiting a Sales Assistant in Bishops Stortford. The role involves serving trade customers, advising on products, handling stock and warehouse tasks, and proactively pursuing sales opportunities. 40 hours weekly, with occasional Saturday mornings.

Salary £26,695 plus bonus and excellent benefits. Ideal candidates will have plumbing and heating knowledge, plus face-to-face sales or customer service experience.

• Carry out general warehouse duties: stock checks, put-away, packing orders, heavy stock handling.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Bishops Stortford branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.00am - 5.00pm and a maximum of 2 Saturday mornings a month 08.00am - 12.00pm.
