Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting a Sales Assistant in Castlewellan. The role supports customers at the trade counter, handles enquiries by phone and email, and helps grow branch sales with a proactive approach.

40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri 08:00–17:00 with overtime on Saturdays when required. You will join a leading plumbing and heating trade specialist, with competitive salary (£26,695) plus bonus and benefits, including generous annual leave, a defined pension scheme, and

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers at the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing product recommendations.

• Providing excellent service and building strong relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
• Proactively seeking opportunities to grow sales within the branch with existing and new customers.
• Carrying out general warehouse duties including picking/packing, deliveries, and merchandising displays.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers at the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Providing excellent service, establishing strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers
• Proactively seeking opportunities to grow sales within the branch, working with both existing and new customers
• Completing general warehouse duties, including picking and packing orders (which will involve some heavy lifting), organising deliveries and merchandising displays to a high standard
• Driving 3.5t van for holiday cover, delivering customer orders.

This is a Full Time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00am- 17:00pm. Saturday working when required 8am to 12pm, paid as overtime.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sales and customer service
• Excellent communication skills and confidence speaking with customers
• A hands-on approach, using initiative when needed to work as part of a small team and support in all areas at the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Full UK Manual Driving licence
