Job summary

Plumb Centre in Castlewellan, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant to support trade customers and grow branch sales. You’ll advise on products, handle enquiries by phone and email, and help maintain displays and stock.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00 with Saturday overtime when required. A UK manual driving licence is essential to cover van deliveries and branch needs.

Qualifications

• Proven sales and customer service experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK Manual Driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the trade counter with product recommendations.
• Handle customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Provide excellent service and build relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
• Proactively seek opportunities to grow sales within the branch, with existing and new customers.
• Complete general warehouse duties, including picking/packing, deliveries, and merchandising displays.
• Drive a 3.5t van for holiday cover and order deliveries.

As a Sales Assistant based in Castlewellan , you'll be responsible for:

• Assisting customers at the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Providing excellent service, establishing strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers
• Proactively seeking opportunities to grow sales within the branch, working with both existing and new customers
• Completing general warehouse duties, including picking and packing orders (which will involve some heavy lifting), organising deliveries and merchandising displays to a high standard
• Driving 3.5t van for holiday cover, delivering customer orders.

This is a Full Time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00am- 17:00pm. Saturday working when required 8am to 12pm, paid as overtime.
