Job summary

Plumb Centre in Loughborough is seeking a Sales Assistant/Delivery Driver to join our branch team. The role combines van delivery of plumbing and heating supplies with trade counter service and customer support.

You will build relationships and contribute to branch sales while handling warehouse tasks and ensuring high standards. Applicants should have a full UK driving licence, strong customer service experience, and a willingness to work as part of a team in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5T van delivering plumbing and heating supplies locally.
• Serve customers on the trade counter by understanding needs and recommending products.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Proactively contact customers to build relationships and drive branch sales.
• Assist with general warehouse duties including picking and packing customer orders; unpacking deliveries.
• Maintain high standards in the branch.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T van delivering plumbing and heating supplies to customers in the local area
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales, focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and storing deliveries involving manual handling of heavy items such as boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch

Work Schedule

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 07:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturdays on a rota basis from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Candidate Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Prior industry experience (advantageous)
• Previous face-to-face customer service (essential)
• Prior warehouse experience (ideal)
• Willingness to work as part of a team and to take on a diverse role
• Proactive and eager to learn, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic
