Job description

The Selhurst Medical Practice is a small, family friendly GP surgery located in the heart of Selhurst, Croydon, with just over 5000 patients. We are committed to delivering a high standard patient-centered care, built on traditional GP values, strong continuity, and friendly, supportive team environment.

We are looking for a dedicated Salaried GP to join our practice. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, providing high-quality medical services to our diverse patient population. You will deliver excellent clinical care while ensuring compliance with the GP contract and maintaining the highest standards of good medical practice.

As a member of our clinical team, you will contribute to the effective management of the practice, lead by example, and support a positive, collaborative working culture. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure our patients receive safe, compassionate, and efficient care.

Main duties of the job

The the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP include:

  • Delivering high-quality and effective medical care to the entitled population
  • Providing services in line with primary care contract.
  • Prescribing safely and appropriately, in accordance with local and national guidance.
  • Managing long-term conditions effectively.
  • Completing administrative duties in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and other clinical tasks.
  • On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with good practice, and current guidance.
  • Working collaboratively and taking an equitable share of the practice workload.
  • Adhering to best practice recommendations, clinical guidelines and the audit processes.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
  • Accepting delegated responsibility for a specific clinical areas or QOF.
  • Supporting clinical governance and contributing to the development and maintenance of practice systems.
  • Attending and contributing to practice meetings when required.
  • Ensuring compliance with the appraisal and revalidation requirements.
  • Committing to ongoing self - directed learning and professional development.
About us

We are a GMS practice with one partner,two salaried GPs, and a dedicated nursing team. Our competent and friendly reception and administrative team ensure thesmooth running of the practice.

We are looking for a GP for 2 - 4 sessions per week. Sessionsare well- structured, with protected time for appointments and administration,ensuring manageable an efficient workload. We offer flexible session timesand are happy to support a newly qualified GPs with regular clinical meetings toencourage learning and development.

Job responsibilities
