Roving Supervisor

Salary: Competitive

Location: Suffolk, IP31 1FE and CB9 8QP

As a Roving Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the sites. You will oversee staff, contractors, and visitors, ensuring health and safety, and environmental compliance, and high-quality customer service are delivered. Working closely with the Site Managers, youll ensure that each site operates effectively, meeting operational targets and contractual obligations.

What will you be doing?

• Supervising the day-to-day operations of the transfer station, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
• Leading and mentoring site operatives, providing training and support.
• Monitoring health and safety compliance, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring procedures are followed.
• Overseeing site traffic management and housekeeping to maintain a safe working environment.
• Managing plant and equipment, ensuring maintenance and safety checks are completed.
• Operating weighbridge systems and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Operating mobile plant in a safe/efficient manner.
• Ensuring exceptional customer service, dealing with queries, and supporting site visitors and contractors.
• Deputising for the Site Managers when required.

About You

• Experience in waste management, logistics, transport, or maintenance operations in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Strong focus on health and safety, with experience working in safety-critical environments.
• Knowledge of heavy plant operations and weighbridge systems.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Computer literate with good numeracy skills.
• A positive, proactive attitude and strong leadership abilities.
• The ability to plan resources effectively and work within budgets.
