Job summary

A leisure resort in Scotland is seeking a Room Attendant & Maintenance worker who will be responsible for housekeeping, property upkeep, and maintenance tasks. JOB DESCRIPTION – Room Attendant & Maintenance
General Requirements:
  • Physically and medically able to carry out duties and responsibilities with or without assistive aids.
  • Compassionate and caring nature.
  • Team player, self‑motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete risk assessments and follow Health and Safety requirements.
  • Willingness to maintain confidentiality and to maintain a professional, neat and tidy appearance, using any uniform items provided whilst on duty.
Groundskeeping & Property Maintenance:

You will ensure that the properties remain well‑kept and looking their best, by completing a range of maintenance tasks across the year.

Additionally, you will:
  • Ensure the overall upkeep of the site.
  • Carry out regular assessments of any issues that may have arisen.
  • Report issues where necessary.
  • Make sure our properties are presented to a high standard.
  • Ensure the grounds and buildings remain tidy.
  • Undertake landscaping and litter‑picking activities.
  • Complete mowing of grass, leaf clearing and sweeping up as required.
  • Complete power washing as and where needed.
  • Painting and decorating as and when needed.
Housekeeping & Guest Assistance:
  • Proficient use of cleaning methods, techniques and equipment.
  • To prepare rooms for visitors as and when required.
  • To empty and clean bins after disposal of refuse and/or supply replacement liners as required.
  • To clean and polish as required.
  • To vacuum, dust and tidy rooms and articles as required.
  • To clean floor coverings and furniture as required.
  • Watering plants around the inside of the house as required.
  • Washing‑up and cleaning kitchen as required.
  • To ensure all washed items are clean and dry before putting them away.
  • Cleaning windows.
  • Cleaning bathrooms, including deep cleaning as required.
  • To meet and greet guests upon arrival, show them to their accommodation and fully brief them about the property, if and as required, and under the direction of the Resort Manager.
  • To assist with changeover/meet and greet clients at other properties as required (if within 2‑3 hours driving distance).
Laundry:
  • Collect, clean and redistribute laundry as needed.
  • Sort washing, dry and iron clothing to a high standard at all times, adhering to the washing and ironing instructions on the garments.
  • Fold and stack linen in an organised manner.
  • Routinely inspect linen for wear and tear, and report this to the Resort Manager.
  • Monitor laundry products and ensure stocks are maintained.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • To communicate with clients as to directions to the property, availability and other related matters.
  • Learning the required maintenance of any swimming pools and/or hot tubs and complete this to a planned schedule.
  • Learning the required maintenance of private water supply systems and to order required sundries for general maintenance of such supply.
  • To complete shopping as required and balance basic expenses.
  • To follow direction if and as required, under the direction of the Resort Manager.
  • To ensure that the grounds are maintained to a high standard.
  • To assist with the ordering of supplies if requested to do so – notifying head office of damaged or missing items and arranging repairs or re‑ordering as required.
  • To assist and put away any supplies delivered promptly.
  • Completing deliveries as required to other properties.
  • Cleaning windows inside and out.
  • To change water filters and maintain systems as required.
  • Filling bird feeders as required.
  • Completing property maintenance and upkeep check list and returning to head office as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard, storing neatly.
  • Report on contractors or other workers on site.
  • To meet contractors and communicate instructions/feedback as required.
  • To assist with administration tasks as required, including those in relation to other properties and/or with contractors and other projects.
  • To carry out home help duties as and when required.
  • To respect the plant‑based ethos of the owners of the resort by not purchasing any comestible product/s that do not comply
  • To monitor stocks of food items and other sundries and submit orders as required.
  • Delivery trips to and from different properties
  • To uphold and comply with established and future administrative systems within the Resort, such as key sign‑out lists, stock inventories etc.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Must have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work set hours and be flexible to meet the needs of your Manager.
  • Full and valid driving licence.

Job Type: Fixed term contract between March & October

Live – in accommodation provided, with utility bills paid for by the company.

£11 per hour

Schedule: 8 hours per day & any 5 days in 7. Either 8am till 4.30pm or 10am till 6.30pm. 40 hours per week.
