Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work independently, delivering quick, confident solutions and reassuring members when they need us most.

The role offers a development pathway with hands‑on learning, IMI accreditation options, and a pursuit of long‑term career growth within RAC’s Patrol division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Provide emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems, and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Work independently, using latest diagnostic tech to identify faults and repair.
• Develop skills through structured technical training and accreditation.
