Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs and support members across the UK. You’ll work independently to quickly restore mobility, delivering confident service and practical solutions on the roadside.

The role offers a broad development path with opportunities to gain IMI accreditation, flexible shifts, and the chance to join a trusted team serving millions of RAC members.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults quickly and reassure members on the move.
• Work independently to get members back on the road.
