Job summary

RAC in the UK is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs as part of the Patrol division. You’ll support members during breakdowns, delivering quick, confident solutions and safety-focused service on site.

Expect a structured development pathway, IMI accreditation opportunities, and a role with varying conditions, shifts, and potential overtime. A strong customer-service ethos is essential to help members stay mobile.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and get members moving again.
• Work independently to assess and fix issues on-site.
