Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to keep the UK moving. You’ll use a Level 2 LV Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years' experience to perform diagnostics and roadside repairs, including battery, tyre, and fault-finding scenarios across your local area.

You’ll start and finish at home, day by day, in a role supported by full RAC van, fuel card and diagnostic kit. Expect a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE around £60,000–£61,000, and generous overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience as a Roadside/Vehicle Technician.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
• Tackle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes and complex fault diagnostics.
• Start and finish each day at home with a driveable local area focus.
• RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit provided from day one.
