Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform tyre changes, battery work and quick fixes, working independently to get members back on the road.

The role offers a strong base pay of £36,400 with realistic OTE of £61,000, optional overtime, and a structured development pathway including IMI accreditation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, operate diagnostic tools, and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Work independently to diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
