Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide quick solutions and help members stay safe on the road.

Starting base pay is £36,400 with an attainable OTE of £61,000; overtime and bonuses can boost earnings. The role includes a structured development pathway and IMI accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and provide quick, confident solutions to members.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and restore road safety.

Education
