Job summary

RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You will provide mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK, with a focus on getting members back on the road quickly and safely.

Expect a structured development pathway, hands-on training and accreditation opportunities with IMI, plus local work areas and a balanced 40‑hour week with optional overtime.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs on-site and get members back on the road quickly and safely.
• Work independently and use the latest diagnostic tools while providing excellent customer service.
