Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs, and get members back on the road with confidence.

The role combines technical work with strong customer service, offering development opportunities, accreditations through IMI, and a structured progression path within the Patrol division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform roadside repairs and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions to members.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue their journey.
• Utilise diagnostic technology to identify faults and repair them efficiently.
