Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join its Patrol division. You will deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support, helping members return to the road quickly and safely across the UK.

You’ll diagnose faults independently, work with the latest diagnostic tools, and provide confident solutions while developing skills through structured training and IMI accreditation. The role offers autonomy, home-based start/end and local area deployments.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and support customer reassurance.
• Take ownership of roadside tasks and develop skills through hands-on learning and IMI accreditation.
