Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician in the Chelmsford cluster area to diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs. You will work to get members back on the road using advanced diagnostic tools, with demand-led shifts and autonomy to manage local cases.

Starting on your driveway, you’ll complete a structured development pathway, pursue IMI accreditation, and enjoy benefits including a strong base salary and realistic OTE, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Work with latest diagnostic technology and maintain high standards of customer service.

Full UK driving licence

Education
