Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to service members in the Chelmsford cluster, including Brentwood. You’ll perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency support to get customers back on the road quickly.

Role includes diagnosing faults, working independently, and delivering excellent customer service with modern diagnostic tools. It offers 40-hour weeks, overtime, and development toward IMI accreditation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• At least 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Work independently to assess faults and guide customers through repairs.
• Support customers with professional and timely service, maintaining safety and quality standards.
