Job summary

RAC is seeking a skilled Roadside Technician to diagnose faults and perform essential roadside repairs, helping members get back on the road quickly. You'll work in the Chelmsford cluster serving local towns, with demand-led shifts and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or as a technician
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for roadside emergencies
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the local area
• Diagnose faults quickly and reassure members in stressful situations
• Work independently to get members back on the road
