Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide quick solutions, and support members during breakdowns with confidence and care.

You’ll work independently, handle varied roadside challenges, and develop your diagnostic capability through structured training and accreditation. A clear path to professional growth and IMI recognition awaits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform emergency roadside repairs
• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics
• Work independently to diagnose faults and get members back on the road quickly
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and provide quick, confident solutions
