Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join the Chelmsford cluster and serve members across your local area. You’ll diagnose faults, carry out roadside repairs and help members continue their journey safely.

You’ll enjoy a structured development path, with hands-on training and IMI accreditation opportunities, plus a strong base salary of £36,400 and realistic OTE around £61,000.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in light vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs.
• Provide rapid, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Use diagnostic tools and communicate clearly with customers.
