Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to help keep drivers moving. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across local areas, starting from your home base and returning there after shifts.

You will diagnose faults, provide fast, confident solutions, and deliver excellent customer service. A structured development pathway helps you advance to IMI accreditation while supporting your growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• OR 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently, solving problems to get members back on the road quickly.
• Combine technical skills with strong customer service and use diagnostic tools to identify faults.
