Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver emergency repairs, diagnostics and breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work on a broad range of vehicles, diagnosing faults and restoring drivers to the road with confidence and care.

You’ll benefit from a structured development programme, hands-on learning and accreditation through the IMI, with demand-led shifts of about 40 hours per week and optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• As a Roadside Technician you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• You’ll work independently to diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
• You’ll combine technical expertise with great customer service, using the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly.
