Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and help members continue their journeys safely.

The role offers a structured development path with IMI accreditation and opportunities to enhance skills through specialist roadside training and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence (≤6 points).

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Provide emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions for RAC members.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot to get members back on the road.
• Work independently to assess faults and guide customers through repairs.
• Develop diagnostic capability through ongoing learning and accreditation.

Education
