Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and assist members across the UK, starting and ending each day from home with a RAC van and full tools.

The role combines technical skill with strong member service in a fast-paced environment. You’ll need an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician, plus a UK driving licence with under 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as Roadside Technician or Vehicle Technician.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish days at home, with a RAC van and diagnostic tools provided.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance to members on the roadside.
