Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support members in their time of need, while starting and finishing from your home and covering a local area to get members back on the road.

You’ll bring a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, plus a full UK driving licence with few points.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a Roadside Technician or equivalent role.
• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault-finding with confidence.
• Start and finish days from home and coordinate work locally to get members back on the road.
