Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You’ll perform diagnostic repairs and roadside assistance across the UK, starting and finishing at home with a RAC van and toolkit.

A Level 2 qualification plus 2+ years’ post-qualification experience is required, along with a customer-focused approach and a full UK driving licence. Expect a market-competitive base salary and an achievable OTE, with overtime availability and regional shifts guided from your home base.

Qualifications

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
• A customer-focused approach
• A full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Tackle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes, or complex fault-finding with quick, confident solutions
• Start and finish each day at home, managing calls and callouts with the RAC van and toolkit
