Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to operate primarily from home, covering local areas within the Exeter cluster and surrounding towns. You’ll carry out mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support, ensuring members get back on the road quickly.

You will start and finish from home with a RAC van, diagnostic kit, and tools provided, helping you deliver expert service while building strong member relationships.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• 2+ years’ experience required
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• Problem solving and customer-facing skills
• Ability to work independently on the roadside

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repairs
• Conduct vehicle diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Manage calls while staying composed and professional
