Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join the Exeter cluster and cover nearby areas. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support, starting and finishing from home with shifts around 40 hours per week and optional overtime.

You will receive a market-competitive base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top performers earning more through bonuses. RAC provides a van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish each day from home; demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week.
