Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician for the Exeter cluster, with coverage across Sidmouth and nearby towns. You’ll start and finish at home, with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime.

You’ll diagnose and repair roadside faults using the RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit. The role offers a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic £60,000 OTE.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Start and end day at home, with challenges on the roadside
• Provide quick, confident solutions and follow safety procedures while helping members get back on the road
