Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to carry out expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and deliver reassuring, high‑quality service to RAC members on every call-out.

You’ll operate with your RAC van, fuel card and full uniform, starting and ending the day from home, taking on diverse and fast‑paced roadside challenges while upholding RAC’s trusted standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle faults, diagnostic checks and repairs at roadside or customer location.
• Start and end your day at home, with a RAC van, tools and diagnostic kit provided.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassuring service to RAC members.
