Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and reassure members when they need us most.

You’ll work independently, applying technical expertise and the latest diagnostic tools, while building a long-term career with structured development and accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Diagnose faults quickly and provide safe, confident solutions.
• Combine technical expertise with strong customer service.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and support members’ journeys.
• Utilise the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults.

Education
