Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide reliable solutions and help members get back on the road quickly and safely.

We offer a structured development pathway with hands-on learning and IMI accreditation opportunities, plus generous holiday entitlement and pension benefits. Expect 40-hour weeks with optional overtime and shift variety.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults autonomously, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and provide quick, confident solutions.

Skills

5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle

Full UK driving licence (<6 points)

Education

NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
