Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide rapid solutions, and help members continue their journeys safely with a customer‑focused approach.

The role offers a structured development programme, hands‑on learning, IMI accreditation, and opportunities to grow within a supportive team. Expect demand‑led shifts, 40 hours per week, and optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems, and provide quick, confident solutions for members on their journeys.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and ensure members get back on the road safely.
