Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs, and support members on the roadside, with start and finish at your home and a typical 40-hour week plus optional overtime.

You’ll need a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or 5+ years as a Technician) and a full UK driving licence with <6 points. You’ll receive a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, essential tools, and a diagnostic kit from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home with 40-hour weeks and optional overtime.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members on the roadside.
