Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work independently to diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to members.

The role offers a structured development path, ongoing learning and IMI accreditation opportunities. Starting salary £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £61,000; demand-led shifts average 40 hours per week with optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue journeys safely.
