RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to repair and diagnose vehicles at the roadside across the UK. You’ll handle breakdowns, battery issues, tyre changes and other quick repairs, using the latest diagnostic tools to keep members moving.

Starting from a base of £36,400 with a realistic £61,000 OTE, the role offers demand-led shifts averaging around 40 hours per week with optional overtime. A structured development programme leads to IMI accreditation and ongoing learning to grow your skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsabilités

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when members need RAC most.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly.
