Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and help members continue their journeys safely.

The role offers a structured development programme, opportunities to gain IMI accreditation, and a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE around £61,000. Expect demand-led, 40-hour weeks with overtime available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and provide quick, confident solutions to members in need.
• Work independently to assess faults, carry out repairs and ensure members get back on the road safely.
