Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults on-site, work independently, and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.

Starting base salary £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £61,000; overtime and bonuses can significantly increase earnings. A structured development programme supports IMI accreditation and long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently and help members continue their journeys safely.
