Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, repair vehicles on the roadside, and help members reach their destination safely.

The role offers strong base pay (£36,400) with realistic OTE (£61,000) and a structured development pathway through IMI accreditation, with demand-led shifts and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Combine technical expertise with customer service using diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly.
