Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics, supporting members across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide confident solutions, and help keep drivers moving with great customer service.

The role offers a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £61,000 and demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime. A structured development programme through IMI supports career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions.
• Combine technical expertise with excellent customer service.
• Work independently to help members continue their journeys.
