Overview
The Technology and Transformation Risk Team is part of the wider risk management function responsible for providing check and challenge to the first line over their risk profile. The Senior Risk Manager, Data Risk will provide independent, forward‑looking oversight of data risk across the organisation, acting as the second line of defence.
Responsibilities
- Support and engage with 1LOD business and controls functions to ensure effective adherence to the data risk management principles and framework, ensuring 1LOD fully adheres to the 3LOD disciplines based on defined roles and responsibilities.
- Work with First Line business areas to embed and maintain a robust and efficient process‑driven RCSA, providing Second Line of Defence support through deep dives and reviews.
- Deliver 2LOD opinion on risks linked to data integrity, availability and resilience, including dependencies on critical data assets and Important Business Services (IBS) for the Group's strategic initiatives and projects.
- Structure, organise and deliver the 2LOD Data Risk team to ensure effective assessment, monitoring and reporting of data risk activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Group Operational Risk team to integrate data risk (including AI) into the overall risk appetite.
- Ensure second line oversight that the data used for financial reporting and legal/regulatory requirements is accurate, valid, reliable, traceable, timely, available, secure and consistent.
- Oversee third‑party and concentration risks, managing dependencies on external data sources, platforms and vendors.
- Collaborate with Model Risk to oversee model and analytics risk, including bias, drift, explainability and responsible use of AI/ML.
- Lead the development, publishing and maintenance of the organisation’s data risks, controls and processes.
- Deliver second line oversight processes to ensure continued compliance with GDPR principles and evolving regulatory requirements, including privacy, AI and localisation rules.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in a data‑related management role with demonstrable oversight of risks linked to data integrity, security and resilience, including critical data assets and IBS.
- Extensive experience building strong collaborative relationships at all levels within a large organisation, including influencing senior management.
- Robust experience implementing appropriate and proportionate processes and procedures around data and information management linked to a Data Risk framework.

Benefits & Compensation
We offer a base salary dependent on experience from £68,000 – £80,000 and a competitive benefits package.
