Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is seeking an Electronics Repair Engineer to join their Scotland-based engineering team. The role involves diagnosing faults on RF transmitters and related equipment, down to component level, with training provided in Wales before moving to Scotland.

The ideal candidate has strong electronics skills, soldering/desoldering experience, and a willingness to travel occasionally. A full UK driving licence is required and a company car or car allowance is offered.

Qualifications

• Strong electronics engineering background with ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Radio Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Experience diagnosing faults on PCBs down to individual components including resistors and capacitors.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally when required.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair RF transmitters and associated communications equipment to component level and carry out PCB repair, soldering, desoldering, rework and component replacement.
• Test, align and calibrate repaired equipment prior to returning it to service.
• Use electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and spectrum analysers.
• Install, commission, maintain and upgrade communications systems and associated equipment.
• Support fault investigation and repair across customer and network sites when required.
• Participate in an out of hours support rota once fully trained.
