Job summary

Demob Job Ltd seeks an Electronics Repair Engineer for a well-established specialist in critical communication systems, based in Scotland. The role involves diagnosing faults on RF transmitters to component level, soldering and PCB repair, and testing repaired equipment before return to service.

Training will be provided at the client’s workshop in Wales, with accommodation and expenses covered. After training, the role will be primarily in Scotland, combining workshop repairs with occasional

Qualifications

• Strong electronics engineering background with ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Radio Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Experience diagnosing faults on PCBs down to individual components.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair RF transmitters and associated communications equipment to component level and carry out PCB repair, soldering, desoldering, rework and component replacement.
• Test, align and calibrate repaired equipment prior to returning it to service.
• Use electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and spectrum analysers.
• Install, commission, maintain and upgrade communications systems and associated equipment.
• Support fault investigation and repair across customer and network sites when required.
• Participate in an out of hours support rota once fully trained.
