Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well established client for an Electronics Repair Engineer to join the engineering team in Scotland. The role involves diagnosing faults on RF transmitters and related communications gear to component level, with training provided at a Wales workshop and eventual mix of workshop and field work across Scotland.

Candidates should have a strong electronics background, experience with PCB fault finding and soldering, and be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Strong electronics engineering background with ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Radio Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Experience diagnosing faults on PCBs down to individual components including resistors and capacitors.
• Confident carrying out soldering, desoldering, rework and electronic repairs.
• Experienced using electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair RF transmitters and associated communications equipment to component level and carry out PCB repair, soldering, desoldering, rework and component replacement.
• Test, align and calibrate repaired equipment prior to returning it to service.
• Use electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and spectrum analysers.
• Install, commission, maintain and upgrade communications systems and associated equipment.
• Support fault investigation and repair across customer and network sites when required.
• Participate in an out of hours support rota once fully trained.
