Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is recruiting for a well established business specialising in critical communication systems and infrastructure across the UK. They seek an Electronics Repair Engineer to join the engineering team in Scotland.

The successful candidate will live in or near Aberdeen, Dundee, Stirling, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Perth, Glenrothes, Montrose, Glasgow. This role offers training at a workshop in Wales with accommodation and expenses provided, ahead of a Scotland-based schedule combining

Qualifications

• Strong electronics engineering background with ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Radio Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Experience diagnosing faults on PCBs down to individual components including resistors and capacitors.
• Confident carrying out soldering, desoldering, rework and electronic repairs.
• Experienced using electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair RF transmitters and associated communications equipment to component level and carry out PCB repair, soldering, desoldering, rework and component replacement.
• Test, align and calibrate repaired equipment prior to returning it to service.
• Use electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and spectrum analysers.
• Install, commission, maintain and upgrade communications systems and associated equipment.
• Support fault investigation and repair across customer and network sites when required.
• Participate in an out of hours support rota once fully trained.
