You will drive on-the-job coaching, monitor store performance, and implement practical actions to improve service with a hands-on approach. Your leadership will ensure a safe, welcoming store environment and a strong customer-first culture, with focus on staff support, rotation, and effective communication

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate the team to deliver an easy shopping trip for customers.
• Open/close the store and manage duty cover with safety and correctness in mind.
• Act as go-to person for colleagues when Store Manager is absent.
• Support the Store Manager with seasonal, community and charity events.
• Keep the store clean, tidy and well presented at all times.
• Prioritise replenishment of products customers need most.
• Ensure POS and shelf labels reflect correct pricing and displays.
• Take action on overcharges and prevent recurrence.
• Manage queues to deliver a great shopping experience.
• Coordinate colleagues to meet daily priorities and breaks around trade patterns.
• Know the store well and drive practical improvements.
• Follow health and safety routines and ensure others do the same.
• Communicate effectively to the team and keep them informed.
• Suggest operational simplifications to the Store Manager.
• Always prioritise the customer in every decision.
• Resolve customer queries promptly and leave them with a smile.
• Adapt service to meet individual customer needs.
• Recognise and celebrate colleagues delivering great service.
• Identify and remove obstacles to delivering great service.
• Resolve colleague queries when Store Manager is unavailable or escalate appropriately.
• Ensure staffing is adequate and cover shifts during sickness/absence.
• Act as a Keyholder for alarm callouts to protect the store.
• Monitor internal communications and ensure timely action and staff notice.
• Co-ordinate colleagues to meet customer needs and feed back issues to the Store Manager.
• Balance service and replenishment duties across the store.
• Support Store Manager on absence management and return-to-work interviews.
• Build relationships with Area Manager and People Partner to address issues promptly.
• Post Office Local duties may apply where relevant and require background checks.
