Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Shift Lead to support store operations, guide a small team, and ensure excellent customer service across shifts. You’ll help schedule work, assist colleagues, and act in the Store Manager’s absence when required.

The role promotes flexibility, proactive leadership, and delivering a welcoming shopping environment. You’ll collaborate across departments to meet customer needs and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Over 18 years old.
• Experience in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
• Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
• Clear communicator, using varied methods to keep the team informed.
• Natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.
• Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.
• Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
• Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence.
• Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change.
• Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service.
• Staying curious and seeking opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.
