Job summary

One Stop is seeking a Shift Leader to manage daily store operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will run duty shifts, coordinate a team to deliver a clean, well-presented store and exceed customer expectations.

As the customer sits at the heart of our business, you will coach colleagues on the job and provide feedback to drive service improvements, while ensuring safe working and shopping environments. You will be the keyholder and main point of contact in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
• Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers and safety
• Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager
• Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
• Ensure the store is clean, tidy and well presented
• Prioritise replenishment of products that matter to customers
• Ensure POS and shelf edge labels reflect what good looks like
• Take immediate action for overcharges and prevent recurrence
• Proactively manage queues to deliver a great shopping trip
• Coordinate colleagues to meet daily priorities and breaks fitting trade patterns
• Deliver practical actions to improve store operations
• Follow health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same
• Communicate effectively with the team and supervise information flow
• Look for ways to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager
• Always put the customer first and respond to queries to leave customers satisfied
• Resolve customer queries promptly and professionally
• Manage absence within the store and arrange cover as needed
• Build relationships with Area Manager and People Partner to escalate issues
• If Post Office Local, pass background checks and perform required duties
